About Figure It Quick
Figure It Quick is a set of free calculators for building work, built and checked by a professional construction estimator with more than 25 years of experience. The estimator is based in the Carolinas and has estimated projects in 26 other states. There's no company team behind the site, just one estimator who got tired of doing the same math by hand and decided to share the tools.
Why it exists
Before any job starts, someone has to figure out what it takes: how many bags, how many sheets, how many squares, and what it all costs. Too many calculator sites bury that number under pop-ups, sign-up walls and pages of filler. This site does the opposite. Each page has one clear tool, the answer sits right next to it, and the math is laid out underneath so you can check it.
Every calculator is written the way an estimator works: measure, add the right waste, round up to what you can actually buy, and price it out.
How the numbers are checked
Each calculator's math lives in its own small module with automated tests. The worked example on each page uses the same numbers as those tests, so the example you read is the answer the calculator gives. Money is calculated in whole cents and rounded only for display.
Some answers depend on the product you buy or the material you use, such as how much a bag of concrete fills or how much a yard of gravel weighs. Those values are labeled as estimates, and wherever possible they're inputs you can change to match what's printed on your product.
Prices are never filled in for you. Material prices change every week and vary from town to town, so the cost sections use the prices you type in. The "check today's price" links take you to the store to look them up.
What it costs
Nothing. The site may show ads and store links to pay for hosting and the time it takes to build new tools. Ads are labeled, kept away from the buttons and inputs, and never placed inside your results.
Questions or a mistake?
If a number looks wrong, you have a question about your project, or you'd like a calculator that isn't here yet, please get in touch. The estimator reads every message, and corrections always come first.
